Eastern Washington, on the Idaho border, offers a wealth of outdoor exploration in state parks and activities for the whole family. Find the perfect bed and breakfast lodging for your vacation near Spokane (the state’s second-largest city), Asotin, Clarkston, Kettle Falls and Pullman, as well as Lewiston, Idaho, across from the Snake River. Well-known for its dry climate, abundant sunshine and fertile farmlands, this region also boasts beautiful inland mountain ranges and incredible canyons and coulees. Palouse Falls State Park is best known for its magnificent basalt canyons and roaring 198-f00t waterfall — well worth the two-hour drive from Spokane. If you prefer to stay closer to the city, explore the mix of distilleries, museums, restaurants, farmers’ markets, year-round events and more. This region may surprise you with the vast amount of parks, outdoor activities and urban entertainment, satisfying both outdoor enthusiasts and leisure travelers alike.
